LOL, great conversation here fellas. I'll go ahead and update everyone on the project. I decided to go with 8-3 wire, I'm going to do the line drop tomorrow and hopefully have an electrician here shortly to do the panel connection and hard wire the compressor. My question for you guys is, is...

Sorry about not including information on the compressor fellas. Its a Kobalt TQ3126. Actual HP ratings are a little hard to find, I'd look in the shop but I'm presently away for work.

Interestingly the Municipality that I live in could care less, and I'm outside of the city limits so they could care less. Opening the wall more to fasten the line isn't a problem, the garage has rough finished drywall, I intend to paint it after I finish up several "messy" projects.

I think this statement hits the nail on the head. The attic is open, with the manway located on the inside of the ceiling. The area is open, and clear of debris. Thanks for the replies guys... the shop has two 240v lines already installed, one for a welder and another for the 4 post lift...

Are my Electricans Lazy? 240v Related.

Greetings everyone, thanks for taking the time to read/answer this question. I recently purchased a 240v 5hp, 80 gallon air compressor and wanted to drop a 240v line with 30amp breaker. I called two electrial outfits and had quotes come back saying they would not drop the line behind the...

Great photos there guys. I was wondering, do any of you know of a vendor that can ship a lift to Alaska with minimal costs associated. Last vendor I spoke with was quoting somewhere around 1k for shipping. Thanks again!
