My great great grandfathers pipe wrench ---1916

I've got a very old monkey wrench, it's what I use to bust those big nuts loose. Real steel.

    Valve lapping.. your take?

I wish, I'm a poor man money wise, but a rich man in other ways. Took me over a months pay to have my heads and short block re-built in San Bernardino, $500 for the heads, and $750 for the short block, I could have done it myself for a lot less, but these guys do this type of work EVERYDAY...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I bought a !/2 drive socket set, Pittsburgh. Used a 18 inch piece of pipe on the breaker arm with a 19mm socket, leaned on it real hard, was waiting for the socket to blow out or the joint in the breaker arm to fail, nope, broke the nut loose, it was a cam sprocket nut on a 3vze. Had to have...

I've heard that HF engine leveler did not work well, but I bought one anyway. IDK, maybe there was a re-design or something, mine works great. I bought the yellow one, screw works very well.

So at least I don't have to make a special trip DTH(down the hill) to get the motor out of the cars trunk. And I've LEARNED a thing or two about jacks, I'd call that a good day. I love to learn new things, and enjoy a challenge. Winners don't quit, and quitters don't win. I may have lost the...

I've seen older auto-trannys that were flushed and begin not to function right and then begin to leak.

There's no way it's going to lift the motor with the heads, ******, and transfer case installed, but at least it got the motor to the place where I going to work on it, so progress can continue. I live in the mountains, Harbor F is about 45 miles and 6000 feet of elevation away.

Found a major problem, this little screen was completely clogged. Cleaned it out the purple degreaser and screaming hot water, dried it in the sun sprayed it with the Slick 50, check balls are trapped so no threat of losing them. Check balls working well. But it seems that cleaning all the...

    Valve lapping.. your take?

I'd have a machine shop do a valve grind.

The small screws on the side of the jack are not going to come out without drilling and using an ez-out the Phillips heads are just too deteriorated from rust. The main cylinder nut still won't budge. So I'm going to flush it out some more, re-fill with oil, try it. This jack is like an onion...

Been trying to get the top off, it's frozen, got liquid wrench soaking into the threads. Sprayed Slick 50 1 Lube into the release hole to see what would flush out, did it a few times. YUK, lots of funk.

I'm thinking this may be the way to go, but I haven't given up on this old jack yet. http://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-super-heavy-duty-long-ram-hydraulic-flat-bottom-jack-36468.html I'd just have to drill a hole in the base plate to bolt it to the hoist.
