    Now that I'm caught up, this is what things looked like when I awakened today. I have OSB 8' up around the building except the front which I'm working on now. I had to take a break from the heat today.

    Day 1 framing and my neighbor came over to help with the heavy lifting. The walls are 2x6x14 and they were heavy!

    The apron and driveway are 3.5" thick with #4 rebar and it's 3500psi.

    The pad is a monolithic slab, 24" deep w/ 2 rows of #5 rebar around the perimeter and 6" deep w/#4 rebar in the field. The concrete is 4000psi.

    Time for concrete. They poured the garage pad, apron and new driveway in a week. Great job by those guys.

    I had to get a form survey completed in order to obtain a permit, so here are the forms.

    They were mostly weeds and two trees, but they're gone now!

    Hello everyone, I'm currently building a 30x45x14 garage. This is my first time building a garage. I've finished basements and built home theaters in my previous homes, but nothing this adventurous. This is a picture of the space where I will be putting the garage.

    Hello everyone. I've peeped in for sometime now and finally decided to join in and get my feet wet. I just started building my garage and wondering why I would wait to do this in the Texas summer heat! Oh well, here I go with my cooler/break seat.
