Great idea but dang trying to get a straight even cut would be a real chore. I could put it in my bandsaw as it is big enough to take it. Never have cut cast iron before. It seems like I heard one time it can gum up a blade? Maybe Im just making stuff up. No matter as I wont cut it anyway.

Ya I wondered the same thing, what its intended purpose was. It wasnt made for personnel to sit on thats for sure. Sides and top seem to be extremely flat. No dings or scratches anywhere, wasnt beat up.

I had a Jet 1018 but sold it about 2 years ago when I replaced it with another saw. My jet 1018 was on casters and it was totally fine. Did great. Casters were kind of worn though so it didnt move real easy. It was a great saw though.
