exactly on both thank you. overkill sums it up and the only load on the walls is the roof deck and joist along with what is stored up there so really not much of a load at all.

we paid someone to do the slab, hindsight i would have been much easier to have taken the old slab out and start from scratch where we could raise the level of the shop..... but anyway i believe they did drill horizontally into the existing slab and tie it in with rebar. as for the expansion...
