Not much action here because there's already a 10 page Arbor Press thread. Here's the latest.

Items Under $50 that Improve your Garage Experience

Strangely enough, they are called headlights. Although it may be useful to clarify exactly WHICH headlight one is talking about when in a garage. I'm just sayin'....

    Epstein Day 2020

Got my order confirmation on 7/4, nothing since.

    Epstein Day 2020

Order #000006944 6 Dubuque bar clamps. 2 mystery bags. 1 50' Voltec cord a couple hundred bucks of other assorted small tools, including some leatherworking stuff. I missed out on Epstein's Day last year, looks like I kinda overcompensated this year. :D I am, however, very disappointed with...

    Oh, Harbor Freight...

50 hours? Sounds like someone got tripped up on the conversion from metric time to imperial time.

Brand loyalists, what other-brandtool was so compelling you made a one-off exception?

Not a brand loyalist, although I do have my preferences. I am, or at least try to be, a PLATFORM loyalist when it comes to cordless tools. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to maintain the purity. My 18/20v platform is Dewalt, but.... I ended up going with the Makita 36v tracksaw. My 12v...

Metrics - where the hell are they??

no, I'm not talking about wrenches and sockets. Finding metric mechanic tools is as challenging as going to your nearest tool monger, be it a hardware store, big box, auto parts joint, Wally world, whatever. No, I'm talking about finding metric drill bits, especially bits suitable for wood...

    Show your new tool arrivals

This actually arrived a few weeks ago, but today was my first opportunity to use it. It was something of a stretch for me to buy it. Not financially, but rather because it meant a new cordless platform. All my 12v stuff prior to this is Bosch, but this is the only 12v oil-impulse out there...

    Wood top bench build

If you want to stiffen the back, take a lesson from bridge builders and TRIANGULATE. Rather than a single horizontal stiffener, just put an X truss back there and you'll be golden. Your sides will be locked.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did some accessorizing of my Triumph Street Scrambler. Added a luggage rack and plugged the passenger peg mount holes.

    Harry Epstein's day 2018?

****!! They don't list either of the Channellocks I'm after.

    What were they thinking?

This is what happens when you have junior DESIGNERS from the world of DESIGN, rather than tool users/designers. Those pliers LOOK very nice, sleek, modern, etc. Unfortunately, in pursuit of a good look, they sacrificed entirely too much function. Because the DESIGNERS probably never actually...

Why are small vertical metal cutting band saws nonexistent??

Define "small". Here's a 14" metal/wood saw you can buy new today. By some lights in this thread, it qualifies as "small." http://www.jettools.com/us/en/p/j-8201k-14-metal-wood-vertical-bandsaw/414500 I had an earlier model of this saw, used it almost exclusively for wood, never changed...

Niflisk and/or Karcher are likely your best options.
