Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

That's what I was thinking. I've mainly used a die grinder with strip disc so far, but on relatively smaller areas, like underbody car parts, and even that was pretty labor-intensive. I've used it on several gas tanks I dropped in order to repaint them, and it took quite a while this way. With...

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

It's pretty thick, possibly double layer sheet metal, over 33 years old. And I've found strip discs to be less aggressive than sanding discs. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

Just a hood, not an entire car. What about an angle grinder with strip discs?

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

Lead, not asbestos. No insulation or flooring being handled here, just walls and a ceiling. And I'd use sanders that capture dust in a bag or bin.

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

Forced air registers can be easily covered, window opened and a fan installed blowing air out (then again the downstairs neighbors and ones across the alley might not appreciate that, I'm just thinking out loud, I'm sure there are tried and true procedures for doing this safely and legally...

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

Mainly to get the flattest surface possible without the inevitable painted-over imperfections from successive paint jobs, plus the original plaster is crack in many places and needs to be fixed. I'm pretty sure that it's lath and plaster given what I've seen and that it was cheaply built in 1955...

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

I'm willing to do all that and that's without owning any air-based painting equipment, e.g. compressor, hoses, guns, cups, etc. I'd probably rent or borrow a compressor and buy the rest. Plus materials of course. Lots of work, I realize, and not cheap, but still way cheaper than a pro job, which...

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

What about an angle or die grinder, using the largest possible strip discs? I have both tools as well. Also, does badly cracked 33+ year old hood paint call for going down to the metal, or only as low as needed to remove all cracks to then be sanded level sealed, primed, base, clear, rub &...

Can I use these palm sanders for auto body/paint work, and to strip interior paint?

I was at Harbor Freight on Friday to buy and return some items, including their Bauer short throw DA polisher for polishing a car I've partially repainted after doing some body work on it, and saw 2 Bauer palm sanders on sale for basically nothing: BAUER 2.8 Amp, 5 in. Random Orbit Palm Sander...

Does M12 Gen 1 Stubby lose power with use?

Quick followup. They ended up replacing the guts, circuit board, motor & mechanism, so it's essentially a new wrench in an old body. I tested it at home, unloaded. It seemed to work fine, although at a certain point when I was switching between modes to test them all out, it stopped working and...

Does M12 Gen 1 Stubby lose power with use?

I was renewing my driver's license today and the nearest Milwaukee service office was literally next door, so I took it there, explained the situation, and they said they'll have a look and decide what to do. It's still under warranty so I'm good either way. Pushing my luck, I asked if it's...

Does M12 Gen 1 Stubby lose power with use?

I've had the Gen 1 M12 3/8" Stubby impact for 3-4 years now, use it all the time. But lately it feels like it's lost a bit of power, and I'm wondering if it's my imagination or if others have experienced this. I use it with the 5Ah high capacity battery, fully charged, at level 3, and also the...

All cordless tools to use the same battery- or April fools joke

It's so everyone can use these new standardized cold fusion-based batteries coming out that put out 4.3x more power and last 17x longer before needing to be swapped out for new ones. Obviously they're not going to let you replace the deuterium in them yourself, per NRC rules. As an added bonus...

Are consumer grade SLA battery-based jump starters now obsolete?

So looks like it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest $20 or so in a new SLA battery, as backup. I assume that it's ok to store them outside and that so long as they're not too extreme neither cold nor heat will damage them, as with SLA car batteries?
