After going through 2 electric motors (1 bearings, 1 due to electrical issue), I decided to convert to a Dust Deputy/shop vac set up. The old system was always crappy at collecting dust. Briefly tried this new setup and it worked great--no dust in cabinet, all dust in cyclonic separator. So that...
Need to get a dead vehicle into my garage from a sandy, narrow alley where there's no straight shot in. Also short drive in front of garage has a decent incline.
Was thinking of putting a strap around one of my Bendpak 2-post posts and winching it in. Strap would be placed as close to the base...
Think I want a polyurea floor coating based upon research. Want to hire it out. Recommendations/thoughts would be appreciated.
Floor is 486 sqft, and I want course of block done too, so another 72 sqft.
Would like to pull the trigger at the end of September/early October. TIA.
EDIT: and it...
Yes, the fan & controller is available at Northern Tool and a few other online sellers.
EDIT: I didn't buy anything yet, but you're right, the wiring diagram shows TWO additional wires (BLUE & YELLOW).
Garage is coming along. Drywall Saturday morning.
Think I might have stumbled upon an oversight for my ceiling fan wiring. I have 3 wires run to to the ceiling fan box (black, red, white + ground). I want to be able to reverse direction from switch as well as adjust speed.

Temporarily using the old automatic controller. (Been sick all week). In the next couple of days I'll switch to the new automatic controller that came with the unit. I can cover up the old hole and cut a new one further up when I change it out if you think that would help.
Hot water is hooked...
Living in a new house (to us) and getting things squared away, one by one.
Had to replace a defunct humidifier. After installing it where the old one was (and closing up slightly smaller hole), it dawned on me that it is mounted to the return duct rather than the supply duct which I thought...
Thanks for the input guys. I ended up ripping the door and guts out. This left the lateral firring strips that create the pocket. I put some 2x4 blocking vertically between these and then built my stud wall, securing the blocking to the stud wall. Solid as heck. Turned out great.
Hoping there is a reasonable way to wall over an old pocket door without ripping out the surrounding drywall to remove the pocket door frame. Of course that would be the best way, but there are some cabinets on one side of the wall I don’t want to disturb.
Anybody that has done this before: I...
Thanks for all this additional info. Give me more confidence in knowing what questions to ask and have a better conversation with the contractor.
The plans specify a 1' 4" wide foundation, with 2 courses of 8" block wall on top. Not sure of the depth the local code requires, but the city won't...
