I was given a 6 drawer box that looks exactly like a 1958 KR 56A, except there is no identification markings on the back of the box. The logo is missing from the front but the holes are in the right place and the correct width. Did anyone make a knockoff of this box??

I have a personal rule to not pay more than $25 for any tool or box. It lowers the amount of stuff I get, but it's part of the fun of the hunt.

Golly, Not to sound critical, but If my Grandpa had left a treasure trove of stuff that he collected over the years not to mention all the memories, I would take the whole kittin caboodle and go through everything. Just don't throw anything away that you might not regret having down the road...

There is a "slot" in the back of all the middle drawers, a companion slot in the top tray of the box, and a tab at the bottom of the box so that if I slide a thin piece of bar down the hole and engage the tab, the drawers all lock in place with the exception of the two outboard upper drawers.

That w as my original thought, but I think the lid is different on the Rem Line boxes. Also, I think Rem Line has a three screw side handle and this box is set up for four screws. The search continues :)

That makes two of us:) does yours have the handles on the side? Mine are missing and I need to find some replacements, but haven't had any luck locating any so far.
