Bridging would be laying your boom down on something sturdy before winching up effectively "fooling" the crane into thinking that the load isn't as far out as it is or as heavy as it is...yes the kickouts, if yours has it will only let you boom down, winch down, or boom in if it senses you are...

Normally it takes 10k plus with the extension out to bend them, they will just winch and boom way over what there capacity is especially if someone has messed with the kickouts. I've also seen them bend from bridging them, if you know what I mean.

It's enough if feed with good air. ..I use it everyday to bust loose semi lug nuts, 1 5/16" socket
