How much does a steel welding table go for?

I just had one formed up. 1/4” steel, two folds. Flat surface about 27x84, unfolded about 33x84. Was 570CDN. For General wrenching service with vices, no welding on this one. Probably gonna use 3x3HSS legs. Haven’t ordered that yet.

Lets digital caliper 10mm sockets of different brands

The measurement is only as good as the operator. Huge misconception that digital calipers are accurate. It simply removes the requirement of the operator to have to know how to read calipers.

Bought a lift from an auction need help identifying

My guess is one is main air supply, one is signal to actuate to pump up, one is pilot open the load holding valve, but this is anyone's guess. You'll have to trial and error it, for testing purposes, you are unlikely to hurt anything (except yourself). You can buy inexpensive air valves for...

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

The operation I was doing that made me realize all this was a long dado rip. Yes, it's an incredible feat that it can do it with such quality and efficiency, but I could sense the danger of it. I could not do what I needed to do with a cross cut. I have a decent mitre and a basic mitre (I...

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

So the saw qualifies for the bounty. It's probably going to go. With the crappy exchange rate, I should do pretty good!

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

The back fence? Fence doesn't keep the saw from climbing the workpiece and running toward you, and you have no rear fence when ripping, so that saw will **** the board from your hands. If it doesn't stall, it will take you right with it if you don't let go. This all is not very obvious with...

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

Be safe and have fun. It's amazing what they can do, but I don't like how it wants to pull your work out of your hands. Called Emerson about the recall. Mine. Isn't officially on the list. I have to email photos to identify it. If I can get a few bucks from it, it's gone. I don't have...

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

Most likely for shaping type tools, not he normal blades. Saw a guy on utube cutting down rough lumber, kind of like a mill-seemed to work good. Or if the blade shaft is up, often there is an accessory shaft that is now pointing down for drilling or router work.

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

The blade climbs, so in certain cutting situations, the carriage wants to run away towards you, or it will try to pull the workpiece(and you) towards the blade. Not so bad with a normal blade, but more aggressive cutting and shaping tools are extremely dangerous. As I noticed performing 7/8"...

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

Tarmy, Awesome setup there. Yes, all tools have there place, and all are dangerous, however, the RASdefinitely has special danger capabilities!

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

I saw the recall bounty, lol, but I'm in Canada, not sure if I qualify. Will dig a bit more.

    Show us your VFD conversions/installations

I made a fan from a 3ph hydraulic cooler fan and vfd....handy for cooling car before service, or drying drywall, lol. Originally was going to exhaust garage with it, but I can't be bothered right now...tired of scaffold work.

    Radial arm saw obsolescence/repurposing?

Someone gave me my radial arm saw 12 years ago because he no longer used it, his nicer table saw did everything. I didn't have mitre saw back then, so it was great. Now I have mitre saw, so I seldom use it. I pulled it out to do a big dado cut the other day, and realized how dangerous it is...

    Misaligned trusses

I made the mistake of not stringing the peaks, I know we did something to line them up, but it wasn't the peak. Realized after I blocked. Wasn't enough to fix by shimming, so I carried on without doing anything. It was a real ***** to sheath properly, had to trim a bunch, nothing was square...

    Edmonton 26x26 Vaulted Ceiling

So I'm a little slow with the garage, with life and all. Here is my current state.. I literally did the one side of cladding the weekend before the Greenfell disaster in England. Does anyone know if steel cladding is a problem on a detached garage? I can see a firefighting issue with not...
