New, to me, Army Surplus Cabinets from an Estate Sale on CL

They work great. The tops when closed make a handy work surface. Also, just FYI, they orginally have bars that slide thru the loops on the top and bottom on the front sides. Lift the top lid, slide the bars down thru the loops, close and lock the top. The bars keep all the drawers locked...

    Lighting Question/Advise

I have a 30X33X14 storage building for my RV, Boat, Utility trl, ect. I would like to install a few overhead lights that I can flip on to see my way around when it is dark. Don't need a lot of light, just enough to be able to get something in or out when it's dark in there. I have a 20 amp...

    Will gutters help this?

Had the very same problem. Broke down and installed trench drain across the front of the garage. Problem solved. Gutters won't cure your problem. Your water is coming from your driveway.

    Generator Brands

I replied earlier with information on my 10K with auto transfer switch. Following this thread, I see a common belief that you are looking at 7-10K to purchase and install. My 10K Generac cost right at $2,100. Dug trench to tie into my propane line myself. Propane dealer provided the line...

Give me made up parts/phrases...left handed screwdrivers etc.

Left Handed Monkey Wrench was my dads favorite. In the shop when a noob had to go out on a service call or repair, we would tell them to be sure and take some "dehydrated water" just in case you run into problems.

    Generator Brands

We have a 10K Generac with automatic transfer switch. It has been in service for 3 yrs + Works great. It is tied into my 500 gal propane tank which also services the house. When powers fails, about 10 seconds later the generator is powered up and providing power to our whole house. The only...

Does anybody have this shop van?

I would think it would go into that cabinet, but you will have to modify it a bit. The long hose is what takes up a lot of room. The Vac comes with a hose holder, but I just wrap mine around the Vac itself. The right side is where the exhaust box is. You would have to do some cutting for...

Does anybody have this shop van?

I have that vacuum. Got it at Costco several years ago. It measures about 26" tall, about 13" wide and about 12" out fro the wall. I mounted mine about 4' off the floor on a side girt. The house is long enough to reach both stalls in my 30X40. It works great and the attachments are handy...

    Garage driveway

When you say "a little lower", how much are you refering to? The driveway should be a little lower or sloped lower and away. If it is not "lower" than the garage floor, you will have a wet garage floor problem during heavy rains or snow melt. Picture would be worth a lot at this point.

    Garage sink ideas, need em'

I have a deep laundry sink. They don't cost a bunch and give you a place big enough to clean things off and keep all the **** in the sink. Easy to install with a stand or you can hang them on the wall. Mounted a plastic splash board behind it with a shelf for hand soap, brushes, etc. Works...
