Craftsman had a branded product that I have called "power pegs" and they worked great and locked very well.
I have not seen them lately and now I use Wire Ties as suggested above.

Good info on the reply. I though it seemed a bit silly to do it one handed.
I also prefer to push the belt sideways with one hand, and turn the pulley with the other.
I think my belt is set well without undue loads on the steps as well as rotational parts.
