    6-Car Garage Parking Configuration?

Here are some pictures of my over/under garage setup. View from the street, nothing looks out of the ordinary: View from the side, just a ground-level 3-car garage: Once you drive around to the rear of the house, you can see the entrance to the basement garage: The basement garage is also...

    6-Car Garage Parking Configuration?

I have a 6 car garage built into my house: 3 in the basement, and 3 on the first/ground floor above it, with precast concrete joist/floor in between. 8 feet ceilings in the basement part, and 14 feet on the ground floor. It could easily hold 8 or 9 cars if you put lifts in the upper level. I...

Is it time for smart locks?

Why would fox-style police locks be illegal? When I lived in a NYC walk-up, I had 3 Mul-T deadbolts on my door: 2 on the knob side and 1 on the hinge side, basically the same result. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Is it time for smart locks?

I put super glue in the outside keyways of doors I rarely use (e.g. front door, second garage door) so they can't be picked/bumped, and then use smart locks for the remaining doors that get a lot of use. The super-glued locks just get deadbolted from inside. I don't carry keys, and service...

    Low rpm drill press?

My cheap Ryobi goes down to 530 RPM. I wouldn't call it "quality", but it's 10+ years old and still runs like a champ, no issues. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

How do you lift/move your new heavy toys without "A forklift"?

I use my engine hoist as well to move heavy things in and out of truck beds, or to save my back. I also have tractors with pallet forks, but sometimes I even use the engine hoist on them in creative ways, like pulling a ballasted tire. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

    Creative uses for "junk" wheels?

I use them for pulling stumps. Run the pulling cable over the rim, placed next to the stump, and it pulls up, not just over. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

    Air Compressor or Welder?!

Switch to cordless impact wrenches: not only does it eliminate the need for a 15cfm compressor to run them, but you can bring your 3/4" impact wrench to the dunes. Take the $500 you'd spend on a good compressor, and get more batteries and a welder. I've found 100's of unexpected and remote...

Plumbing ?: Thread size of drain on ball valve

I just replaced one, it was 3/8x24, with a rubber disc to seal the shaft. The package also came with a 5/16x24 cap, so that might also be a common size. I bought the replacement from Amzn, plenty of options: search for drain caps. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
