    Harbor Freight Color Poll

I voted red and that will be the color next I choose next spring when I buy either 2 44" top and bottom sets or 1 56" set along with 1 44" set. My tool chests are 4 black, 5 red and 2 stainless. Since all my hand tools are going to be located in one corner of the shop, I'll put them in the red...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

A current Freebie is the 18" magnetic tool holding strip. I get those for free every time they are offered. I've mounted them on tool boxes, edges of shelves, workbenches, my lathe chip trays, etc. Just about anywhere I have smaller tools to hold in a handy location. They are strong enough...

How much do you have into your tools?

Close estimate? Very close to $150K including machine tools, tooling, hand tools, welders, car lifts, speciality tools for various models of cars, trucks, motorcycles, power tools, tool chests and workbenches. I keep a spreadsheet with a half-assed inventory. I bought. My first toolbox at 6...

What's a Good Way to Organize the Garage? Any Schematics?

That's what I'm faced with. My shop building is 30'x60' with a 9'x21' slice out of one corner for a shop office. There is a low ceiling garage bay of 15'x25' along one side. There are rolling doors that take up most of the south 30' end of the building and a garage door for the side bay...

    Electrical raceways

As a retired master electrician, those raceways are usually used for power limited low voltage data, voice and signalling circuits. How are you planning to make your drops out of such a shallow raceway? Cutting that non-metallic raceway to fit a Tee while it's full of live circuits wouldn't be...

    Harbor Freight tool cart

I have one of the red 5 drawer red ones to keep next to the lift with all the lube tools close at hand. I also bought one of the 44" chests/roller boxes and one of the 26" sets that were on sale recently. I think they are better quality than the recent Craftsman boxes.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

We use them in the machine shop, most machines have a set in the roller box with the tooling. After three years of beating the hell out of every stubborn setup in the shop, none have broken. You can't beat the price.

Help Me Stock My Garage With Equipment

I wouldn't go with the combo mill-lathe unit. I wanted one until I used a friends. The experience was enlightening as to the tool's limitations. So I bought a pair of Atlas lathes, a 6x18 and a 12x36. Both units are from the 1940's and are good American iron. I got both lathes off...
