    Ceiling material

Ok I have a ceiling question. Attached is a pic of my project, I've have the trusses on 4 foot centers. I'm wanting to use the Menards metal ceiling panel liner. Is 4 foot too much for the metal liner material to span? I am blowing in insulation on top of the ceiling metal when complete, and...

    Pole barn wall framing

Attached are pics of how I am doing my wall framing and insulation. I'm setting the 2x4 2' on center and placing the R-19 rolled insulation between the out 2x4's the steel is attached to and the inter 2x4's I'm attaching the OBS to. Works very and because the insulation is not pressing...

    40x60 insulation question

The walls are going to be 7/16" OSB, so I want the best draft and vapor barrier I can get. That is why I thought the kraft stapled to the 2x4's and plastic overtop of that would work the best till I was told that I should only have 1 vapor barrier. But like you said I think that applies to...

    40x60 insulation question

Can I install kraft faced R-19 batts and use a 6 mil plastic vapor barrier. Is it wrong to have both the insulation paper and plastic both acting as a vapor barrier on the warm side of the barn. Thanks for any ideas on my question.

    40x56x12 Indiana barn build

Floors are 5" thick. Wife actually picked the colors, I would have picked a brown or tan combination. But I have received LOTS of great comments on our color selection from neighbors and people just stopping by to chat about the barn. Even noticed a couple barns with our color combination...

    Shop Floor Heat

I just updated my location so everyone will know where I'm at in reference to the heating question. I also will be spending time out there doing family car maintenance, and restoring John Deere farm and lawn and garden equipment. I'm just not sure I want the lag heat up time the floor heat...

    Shop Floor Heat

Ok have quite a decision to make on the cost vs benefits of my heating choice in my new shop. I just price materials for the in floor option. Heated shop floor will be 28' x 40' of my 40 x 56 new barn. 35 sheets of 2' insulation board @ $25 each = $875. 1100 feet of 1/2 pex tubing is $325.00...
