Why is the Ryobi 18V cordless ratchet only sold in Australia?

I sent an email to the people over at Ryobi, and they tell me it is going to be introduced to the US sometime in 2019. Hopefully it will be a bit more reasonable than purchasing one from AU and having the huge shipping costs.

Look at what I got from the ReStore!

We had a very tiny Restore that lasted all of six months. I was able to score a couple of small motors, along with a handful of 12v adapters. I wish they stayed in buisiness, since now all we have are a couple of pawn shops and a Goodwill. I guess I need to find a Restore somewhere close by...

    Modified tools, show us yours

Love the AK rivet squisher. I have been looking for some drawings to make up one of those. Might you have somewhere I could find a decent drawing?

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Yea, the color is kind of unique, but if I can't find it in blue, then she will be black wrinkle. I do appreciate the input. I will be sure to post pics when it is done.

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

I have taken down the grinder and found that it is in pretty good shape. It runs fine without a lot of vibration or noises. When I was cleaning it up, I found that the grinder was originally painted in a wrinkle finish dark blue. I was wondering what the consensus is for either leaving it as...

How did i do for $50.00 Rockwell 15 drill press

I hate to say it, but you sir, do indeed ****. I have looked and looked, but only came across a Craftsman table top drill press. It's no so bad, but I need to rebuild the quill, but I think it will cost more to repair it than it's worth. Finally, you do indeed ****.

    Disposable gloves.....recommendations?

Personally, I use the black 9mil gloves that HF sells. They are thicker than the blue ones, and they do seem to last quite a while. I would recommend getting the XL gloves, as they will fit better for normal sized hands.

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Not sure if I posted this before, but I thought I would let you guys have a look at a Speedway bench grinder I picked up a while back. I just started tearing it down to have a look inside, and the bushings are rock solid.

    Obsolete tools.

I have a 65 MG MGB, and I can tell you I have a drawer full of obsolete tools, most of which are listed here. My favorite is a set of carb synch gauges (with mercury in them). I found the setup at a yard sale for $5 twenty years or so ago. It is for a four cylinder motorcycle, but I only use...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I would pick that one up just because. If it looks good in person, I would think it would be great. If you do get it, of course, you ****. :willy_nil

I had an appointment today at my not so local VA hospital, and had some time to kill. I dropped by a pawn shop that usually has some interesting stuff. I couldn't find any vices or anything like that, but I did find this Speedway 6" bench grinder. All I can tell so far is that it is made in...

    Best Deadblow Ball Peens?

I second the Snap On vote. I have had a 16oz dead blow for years, and it is my go to hammer for most everything. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there, but you buy excellent tools just once. They can be found on eBay now and again. When I am looking for something particular, I set...

    Cheapest ebay plasma cutter review

It is good to see that someone took the leap for one of the chicom plasma cutters. I have been looking at them for a few years now. I think they would be great for cutting out floor pans from rusty MGs and other assorted British sports cars. I would be interested in the longevity of the...
