    Cant tell from the picture how the Garage is configured from the house, can't you vent it straight out the side wall horizontal?

    Does the closet for a gas water heater need to have louvers in the top and bottom?

    If its a sealed combustion water heater, and pulls air from outside or under the home then no you dont need a louvered door.
