    New Snap-On F100

    Hmmm. Bahco has dual 80.

    New Snap-On F100

If that's the case and the dual 80 will be rebranded as Williams, then not sure if there is any point dropping the loot on a SO dual 80 now.

    New Snap-On F100

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. The person I was messaging with said that they are gradually phasing them out, but didn't know a specific date when they will be discontinued. I need a locking flex, so I was wondering if I should grab a dual 80 model now or pick up a mid-level LFH...

    New Snap-On F100

I messaged SO, and they said they are gradually phasing out the dual 80s.

    New Snap-On F100

Any opinions on whether it is worth it to purchase dual 80 ratchets now, if they are being discontinued relatively soon?

    New Snap-On F100

Yeah, I see that the prices are relatively close between the 80t and 100t. I need a new locking flex head and was thinking about the FLX80B, but I'm wondering if there is a point in buying dual 80s with the Cynergy line rolling out now. If a locking flex 3/8 100t comes out soon for the same...

Gearwrench Locking flex head ratchet quality concerns.

I won't go the Matco route, despite them having a good locking flex head design. I go SO because it's much easier for me to warranty, and in my opinion, the materials are superior. Further, I am not a fan of snap ring ratchet face plate retaining designs. But I'm wondering if buying a dual 80...

Snap On F80 seized faceplate screws

I did try heating it, but the soldering iron idea is great. I mean, we heat seized bolts all the time, I should have remembered that! Thanks!

Gearwrench Locking flex head ratchet quality concerns.

Sounds like it's not worth the headache to even bother with their ratchets. Hit or miss if you order online. Thanks for the heads up.

Gearwrench Locking flex head ratchet quality concerns.

I appreciate you posting and sharing your experience with GW. I don't have any of their ratchets, but have been contemplating a locking flex and was considering them. My intuition goes off when I watch the PF videos, as something just feels suspect when I see GW ratchets taken down to their...

Snap On F80 seized faceplate screws

Follow up: Snap On warrantied the ratchet for me!

Snap On F80 seized faceplate screws

I tried drilling it out, then tried catching an edge with a small slotted drive and a hammer to break the Loctite bond. I stopped drilling because I was catching the faceplate. I didn't want to destroy my SO ratchet :)

Snap On F80 seized faceplate screws

Hey thanks for the feedback. I started with a dedicated T10 torx screwdriver. Good lesson regarding opening them up immediately. I also tried heat to loosen/the melt the locktite. I tried everything I could think of and spent some time looking for ideas online.

Snap On F80 seized faceplate screws

Wondering if others have had issues removing Snap On faceplate screws. I received some repair kits from SO and could not get the faceplate screws out. Tried T10 torx and slotted drive. Used some 3-in-1 oil. The screw heads are so soft they were falling apart. I eventually got one out with a...
