Recommend type of lights, size, how many?

I would use 12 150 watt Metal Halide fixtures. I would also paint the walls white and use a light color for the floor.

    Damn Pellet Dealers

When they sold you the pellets and agreed to a fall time frame for pick up they entered into a contract with you. Unless they specifically stated the price could rise they are obligated to sell them to you at the agreed upon price. If the price of pellets decreased, I assure you, they would not...

Anyone have picture of their lofts?

That's exactly how I did mine. Attic trusses for the first 16' and scissor trusses for the next 24'.

    Cost for high lift doors!?

To go with a high lift door for my 17 X 7 was an extra $300. A little extra track and a slightly heavier spring were needed. I would strongly suggest a jackshaft opener for your application and planned use. I would get a quote from a company that specializes in garage doors. Once you have...

    Epoxy-coat vs. Ucoat-it

I was faced with the same decision you are just a couple of months ago. After doing extensive research I chose Epoxy-Coat and I am very happy with the results. I am planning on doing my other garage with Epoxy-Coat as well. "Cutting" refers to trimming around the edges. One kit should work...

    New Garage questions

Your second drawing is much better. One thing you might consider is a combination of attic trusses and scissor trusses. This will allow you the option of shorter walls (not sure how high your community will let you build) and head space above the lift with storage in the rest of the space. If...

Epoxy question -- I have a shop that is in use.

The way to do it is to etch well past halfway on the first round. Etch as far into the second section as you feel is needed to provide enough cushion.

    Costco tool benches

My Costco still has them in stock.

    New Garage questions

Since your space is very wide I would highly recommend that you set it up so you can drive straight in. The majority of the work is on the front of the vehicles and you would be unecessarily limiting your access by angling it in the corner. I would put the posts 10' to 12' from the back wall...

Got a quote for polyspartic (sp?)...

I was fortunate to have new concrete. I etched with acid. I would not be overly concerned about it. By the time you rinse the floor several times the acid would be very deluted. I flushed it into the yard and driveway without a problem.

Got a quote for polyspartic (sp?)...

I was in the same boat. The more I read the more confusing it seemed to get. There is no clear answer but I decided to go with Epoxy-Coat. The cost was $.66 per sq. ft. and it looks great.

    What nap roller for epoxy?

3/8 Wooster 18" works just fine.

    Epoxy-Coat my Winter Application

Hey Fuzzy, Thanks for starting this thread, the thorough details, and the 6 month follow up. After reading a ton I had narrowed down the list on floor coatings but I was still undecided. Your very detailed write up helped pushed me over the edge. I finished my floor with Epoxy-Coat yesterday...

    starting to build a garage

Most lift requirments are 4 inches of concrete. I had pads 8 inches deep where the posts were going to be just to be sure. I believe most lifts are 220 Be sure to use a ridge vent.

Parking under 2-post lift used for storage??

I researched lifts extensively and I can't recall finding one that will lift higher than what you have found. Is there any chance you can make the garage 40' deep? I was going to do the same thing you are looking to do but I went 40' deep instead and I am sure glad I did.
