    Which Eaton 7.5 HP Compresssor?

I have the 7.5hp 4 cylinder Eaton. I bought it new 1-09. I went with that one because I wanted the quietest compressor in that price/performance range. I believe the RPM is a direct factor on how loud they are and how long the pump will last. I was the same in that I wanted it to be my last...

looking for a new air compressor

I have an Eaton 7.5hp 80gal with the 10hp 4 cylinder pump. Very low RPM and quiet. I have been very happy with it so far. I've only had it since the first of this year. I did a ton of research as well before deciding on Eaton. Nobody could match the performance, added features and best of...

    Low Profile Floor Jack

I picked up a Matco 2 ton Low Pro service jack a few years back to get under my lowered track cars. It's got a lowest height of 2.5 inches! It has twin pitsons and is built like a tank....it weighs over 120lbs!! I have been very happy with it. It looks a lot like the one JSK referenced...

    Knife Woes

I have an Emerson CQC7. It's a nice piece. A bit bulky but it is very sturdy and well put together. Honestly I like my Microtech knives better. Here's a pic of the Emerson.

    Knife Woes

I own several knives from a few manufacturers listed in earlier posts. Such as Buck, Gerber, Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, Emerson and Microtech. They are all nice but the Microtech knives are the best of the best IMHO. They are not cheap, but you will get what you pay for. Completely US...

    Drill press quill runout adjustment

Ok. I believe I have the "quill" play figured out. The adjusting lever for the slot in the head that the quill rides in was too loose. I have found the sweet spot for that adjustment I think. Still would like to eliminate the play in the spindle.

    Drill press quill runout adjustment

Aha! It's the spindle. The part that spins. Well now that I look a little closer it appears to have some play in both. If the chuck is extended down towards the table 3 inches or so there is more play. With the chuck extended there appears to be play in both. At around 3 inches if extension...

    Drill press quill runout adjustment

The slop or play I am talking about is when I grab the chuck I can move it side to side a bit. If I turn it on with a bit in it it seems to run straight. I am just worried that the play could cause some issues with accuracy if I am drilling steel. Wood shouldn't be a problem. I didn't know...

    Drill press quill runout adjustment

I picked up a Clausing 16sc 15" drill press. The previous owner said he replaced the bearings in the quill with new ones. There is a small amount of side to side play in the quill now. Is this adjustable? Or is it possible that he put the wrong bearings in it? I have a 15" Dayton drill...
