    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

I haven't been around for a while, and it occurred to me this evening to make a quick stop to see what was up on the Gregor Project. I should know better . . once I start I cannot stop until I am completely up to date. Took three hours. It is refreshing to see your attitude with regards to...

    Do copper air lines corrode?

I was by a race shop the other day where I worked in the 80's - we put in the copper air system in 1984 and it has been trouble free ever since. Been under pressure and in use every day. *** The reason we went with copper - the shop owner also owned a factory that made cultured marble. (sinks...

    Mark's Monster Garage....3800 sq ft

I have been away from the site, and missed the debate on PVC vs. Hard Line. But I willl add a comment anyway. I my younger days I worked in a race shop owned by a guy who also owned a large company which made Cultured Marble fixtures. (sinks, tubs, showers, etc.). Everything in the marble...

Congrats Gregor, moving from project to home is a significant step. But we will of course continue to expect constant updates as you continue the details. When it is really DONE done we may need a support group for those going through update withdrawls.

Had to catch up on a week or so I missed . . . Reasuring to know I'm not the only one facing washers and indexing fasteners. I cut my teeth years ago with raceboats, and that kind of stuff is just automatic at this point. Don't get me started on wire run bundles having to have all wires...

Unique Garage Problem - Ideas Wanted!

I don't mean to pile on, but I think yes you could absolutely building something, and no I don't think you should. Several things come to mind. . . . The HF wheel dollie thing to me is a non-starter. Who wants to have to lift each individual wheel each time you want to prepare it to move or...

Cabinets are looking good. Curious how you plant to float / hang them. My father built some floating cabinetry for our family room must be, damn, fifty years ago. I guess could call it Mid-Century Modern, back when it was actually the Mid-Century. They have the entire back inset 1", and a...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

Damn! 2:38-AM and I just finished reading 15 pages. It's addicting. I'm afraid to check out your photography page - it might be dawn before I'm done. All kidding aside, this is an incredible project. It's great to see that you are maintaining your level of craftsmanship as the mission creep...

Brooklyn Warehouse - to - Carriage House / Dream Garage

This is an incredible project. I am guessing that if we knew the budget many of us would begin shaking, and sweating profusely. But quality and craftsmanship cost money, and you seem to be getting a lot of both. Nothing boring here. Thank you for allowing us to follow along.:thumbup:

    Big jim's big project

The house is really coming together nice Jim. This is the fun part, when it all starts to come together. Your 80 year old A/C guy reminds me of when we had our pool resurfaced after a hurricane. Pool company asked we wait a couple of weeks because they had a specific guy they wanted on the job...

Amateur hour at the E-tek Shop...

Reminds me of the story of the starter and my neighbors Caravan. He was a fireman, but not the brightest bulb in the package. And definitely not mechanically inclined. I pull into the driveway after work and see him wrenching on his wifes Caravan jacked up in the driveway. I go over to see...

HOA says no shed, I say fine. LOOK AT THIS!

Well played, and a really nice shed. Reminds me of a friend of mine who lives on a river in Florida. The house is from the fifties and originally had a boat ramp. It was long gone, but he is a boat guy and wanted to build it back. County said no to the permit. No longer fit the river plan etc...

Slow down there, I put in the first reservation.;) Besides, I'm still hoping Mrs. IGO2XS will reconsider my offer to be adopted. :D

    Tool theft by UPS?

In the course of business I have sent several thousand UPS shipments - they have lost two. Neither were anything anyone except the recipient would want, and both times UPS promptly paid for the lost items. If you ship millions of packages a year, it stands to reason stuff happens. . .

    Snap-on truck Arival time

I used to have a great Snap-on dealer. Second generation, his dad was the dealer before him. He was there like clockwork Thursday at 5:00 (so he could drink our beer!) He was fair in his pricing. On call if we had an emergency. Would offer to loan you something he could have sold you, but knew...
