Best table saw for around $1500?

Same setup I use. I had a Dewalt DW745 tablesaw paired with the track saw, but I sold it last year. Need to buy another saw, so it'll either be another 745, or the new Bosch saw. I had the Festool parallel guides, but they were a PITA to setup and use even for wide cuts, and even worse for...

    mowing in reverse

My new Ariens riding mower has a separate key setting if you want to mow in reverse, so you have to make a conscious effort to set it up to do so. If you try backing up with the blades engaged without being in that position, it shuts down. Not sure if it's just because they're afraid people...

Best table saw for around $1500?

The Festool track saws are great if you're looking to use the tablesaw for breaking down sheet goods- feeding 4x8 sheets of anything through a tablesaw is a PITA, unless you've got huge infeed/outfeed tables, and 10' in front of and behind the saw for the panel to run through. Where they're not...

Anyone recommend an HVLP spray gun for body work?

I've used the Harbor Freight HVLP gun for all of the epoxy primer on the '69 Camaro I'm building, and it has worked well. You've got to be careful though- they have two purple guns, and I believe they're both "kinda" called HVLP, but only the more expensive one it. It has HVLP cast right into...

    Air Compressor?

Before I spent $800 on anything from Harbor Freight, I'd consider all other options. Tractor Supply sells a 60gallon Ingersoll Rand compressor for $749- even though it shows only 14cfm at 90psi vs the 15.6 that the Harbor Freight unit shows, I'd still say your getting a better bang for you...

    Miter Saw....

The Dewalt table saw is a great machine. The fence is very well built, and even the blade guard works well. I know most guys pull the blade guards off because they don't work well, get in the way, etc., but Dewalt got that one right, and it's a good safety feature to have- especially if you're...

    Prep metal for paint

I've used spray-on products like PRE from Eastwood, and have also used non-chlorinated brake cleaner. They clean the oily off, and evaporate quickly without leaving a residue. You can also use wax and grease remover in a spray bottle, but it needs to be wiped off.

    Kobalt tool cart

At that price, the HF 5-drawer is definitely a far better deal.

    4.5" angle grinder

You may not want to hear it, but the maroon grinders at Harbor Freight are great- especially for the price. I pick them up when they're on sale for $19.99, and the come with a spare set of brushes. I've got two that have been used and abused on the '69 Camaro I've been restoring, and they're...

    Sandblasting aluminum parts?

Well, you don't have to spend that much- was just showing you that large cabs are available. Here's a 46" unit with dust extractor: http://www.tptools.com/960-T-Pro-Trig-Blast-Sandblasting-Cabinet,2709.html?b=d*8015

    Sandblasting aluminum parts?

Here you go- 72" long- plenty of room for a 30" block, or just about anything else you can throw at it. http://www.tptools.com/1636-Blast-Partner-Abrasive-Blasting-Cabinet,7431.html?b=d*8016 If that's not enough, here's one that's 96" long...

    Sandblasting aluminum parts?

    a) If you build a room, it better be air-tight, or you'll have glass bead dust throughout the rest of the shop in no time. b) If you build an air-tight room, you better be wearing a fresh-air setup, or you'll have glass bead dust in your lungs in no time. Why not just buy a larger blasting...

    Kobalt tool cart

Unless it's $99, I'd pass on that one and go with the Harbor Freight 5-drawer- you can get them for $169 with the right coupon. With only two drawers, you're not holding a whole lot in that cart, though the side shelves are nice to have.

    Miter saw....which one to choose...

Festool Kapex- pricey, but worth it, especially if you need to cut inside the house.

    Tools for installing kitchen cabinets

Look at Festool's drills- especially the CXS. They're pricey, but they have some neat attachments, like a 90 degree head that comes in very handy, especially when you're trying to screw faceframes together on narrow cabinets.
