I needed to unload a Reed 208 vise from my truck, so I lagged some steel shelf supports to my rafters. Temporary solution. I’m going to mount an 8’ length of Unistrut and buy or fab one of the 4 bearing trolleys for it. That should be good for roughly 600 lbs. My issue is that the rafters...

Since you have easy access in the inside, you could double up the 2x4 frame plus add cross braces in the critical areas, use the strongest hardware you could find and have it swing out. Easiest & quickest imo. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app
