    She got me art!

I was always taught to, when receiving a gift, say thank you. Grandad was a stickler for stuff like that. YMMV, clearly.

    Vintage Craftsman toolchest.....what to do????

Hell, that box looks better than most of mine! Stablize any rust, and enjoy the memories.

Need neighborly advice. Building garage, neighbor doesn't agree.

I've watched a number of variance hearings over the years -- some seem to be rubber stamped, some are like calling a grand jury for a mob trial -- "Asking" you neighbor likely had no long term impact on what eventually winds up happening -- in all the built-up areas I've lived in, the...

    help design motorcycle lift table

I, too, got an HF lift (but hydraulic foot pump) . . . . no problems thus far (I did replacce some pre-corroded hardware with SS, though). My only miusgiving about the plan in teh first post would be the limited accessability from one side -- that would be a problem for me, but, perhaps, not...

    Work bench paint?

I've also used deck and floor paint -- whatever was cheapest at the time -- it's held up really well on everything but the work surface, but I really can't complaing about that -- I'd likely chip if you dropped a cylinder on me, too.

How many of you have a pee funnel in your garage?

I've got an old metal bedpan I picked up for a couple of bucks a few years ago at an antique store . . . . my lovely wife saw me walking up to the counter with it, said, "what are you going to do with that?" At just that moment, she figured it out and said,"Good idea!"

Atlas metal lathe $500 in Santa Clarita

    VERY interesting . . . . .. great price if it's in decent shape . . . .

What drilling liquid do you like best?

    while there are specifioc product for drilling specific metals, I use water for drilling everything in the Entropy Lab -- threading's a different can of worms, though ;-}

    Snapon Gimme Pen

    well, it's one of those rare, non-ratcheting ratchet models, tuner . . . . also, it's seems to be one of those unusual 7/32" drives . . . . . . ..

    Snapon Gimme Pen

Billy - actually, the srews DO come out, allowing the business end of the "ratchet" to come out and fall on your bare toe! nothjing inside, though ;-{ it IS a nice piece, though balanced oddly for a pen.

    Snapon Gimme Pen

All I found this pen the other day in the Entropy Lab, stuck in the Lubrico can of writing tools -- it was a gift from a friend at an HD dealership, years ago -- I though one or two of you might get a kick out of it!

I am sorry for my poor workshop

If a shop is a tool that allows you to perform work, you've nothing at all to apologize for, sir . . . . . . wonderful work! thanks for sharing it with us!

    New reorganization

lots of good advice here -- I think that, with very few excceptions, what you and I would consider to be a very nice garage will not add much to the re-sale value of your house -- there are only som many loons out there, after all . . . . I cannot agree more strongly with the "move it 3 times...

Hey OldCarGuy can you make your own wrench?

me, I'd start out trying to make a 1/4 box end, sit down with my needle files, and wind up with a 64/137 inch whitworth spanner . . . . .

    Shop vac Question

man, it's been years since I ddealt with this kinda thing at work, but I'm thinkin the answer is no, it won't double the vacuum - - - - - if vac 1 will pull 10 inches of water (just an example), and vac 2 will also pull 10 inches, what you'll see at the nozzle is 10 inches . . . . .
