Which two post lift to buy

I purchased a Bendpak XPR10ACX which I think is now just the XPR10A. I have had it at least a year (don't really remember when I got it, now that I am retired and 42yrs old- time is not one of my priorities). It has been wonderful. Fairly easy to set up. It is extremely well built and very...

    AutoEnginuity OE-Level Software

If you are starting to mess with VW, get the VCDS from Ross Tech. That thing is amazing. It tells you everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. It will give codes for anything electrical. My son's 99 golf had a broken mirror and it threw a code for that specific mirror heater not working. Ross...

Cool Tip when changing your motor oil.

Re: Cool Tip when chaging your motor oil. Can't beat the fumoto valves. Just slap a hose on it, turn the valve and drain it into a five gallon bucket with a pour-lid. Easy to empty when it is full..

    Shop pranks

Here is an old Navy one.... The mail bouy watch... Take a young bootcamp and place him on the fantail with a boat hook all dressed out in a huge kapok (big old life preserver), goggles, hard hat, gloves, harness, fire boots. Then tell him that he is to watch for the mail bouy and collect the...

    order of building supplies

Sounds like a pretty good plan...but...once it starts going, you will want to finish it. Just remember not to leave the OSB exposed for too long or it will start to deterioriate. How big is your planned garage? If you goto the the contractor desks at your local lumbar yards, home centers and...

Take a look at my electrical plan, and see if I'm forgetting anything

I think the #2 (2-2-2-4 AL) will not be big enough for that long of a run. There are many posts about feeder size. I'm sure someone will chime in. I ran 2-2-2-4 with a 60amp breaker for my feeder. Mine is about 100' as well.

Covering studs soon... What else should I put in the wall?

Great idea with the blocking. Didn't even think of that.... I may go ahead and run a CAT6 drop and cable in there as well. Seems I have alot more work before I can close anything up.... You guys are great...

240v Air compressor disconnect with 120v switch

How is this for an idea? Just checked home depot site and there is a double pole 30 amp switch for motors and equipment, could I tap into one of the wires from the switch to the starter and install a light that would indicate whether our not there is power running to the compressor? A visual...

240v Air compressor disconnect with 120v switch

There is a contactor with the compressor. The motor draws 25.5 amps. Now that I think of it, I could just tap into the wire from the pressure switch that runs back to the contactor and put a switch. It would be like manually tripping the pressure switch. Does that make sense? Right now, I...

240v Air compressor disconnect with 120v switch

Is this safe or not??? Like my lift and the compressor itself. One of the hot wires going into the motor is run through the upper limit (on the lift) and the pressure switch (on the compressor). When those trip and break the connection, the motor stops. Now, could I just drop the run by...

Covering studs soon... What else should I put in the wall?

Now that is a great ideea. I will definitely put a couple in each wall. May even throw a note in there...kinda like a time capsule...

Covering studs soon... What else should I put in the wall?

All I can say is "WOW!" That is alot of outlets....most are covered up by shelving and such too. My garage is pretty much outfitted. I have yet to use many of the outlets. Only other electrical items I can figure that would require an outlet constantly are the door opener and future spot...

    What compressor is this????

I am in the process of searching for a new tank. Anyone ever purchased a brand new tank before? How much could a new one run? If I purchase one from craigslist, I still don't know what kind of shape it is in on the inside. As far as I can tell, the large pulley has not been machined. May...

Covering studs soon... What else should I put in the wall?

Good idea but I don't like anything loud while I am working in there. I want to be able to hold a conversation on my phone without having to turn down the radio. I haven't planned on a tv just yet.. I may go ahead and make provisions for that and run some surround wires for the future...

Covering studs soon... What else should I put in the wall?

If I had a few grand, drywall would already be up...:lol_hitti Now I can stash a few grand of your cash if you like. Now is the perfect opportunity while the studs are bare...:bounce:
