Makita or milwaukee.. help me pick a drill and impact combo

I went the Makita route. Bought the compact set plus a brushless hammer drill that was on clearance at HD. I'm planning on getting the 1/2" impact drill too. Personally, I like the balance and grip of the Makita for my hands. Don't like the Milwaukee grip. Ironically, I'm wearing a Milwaukee...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Just got an email notice today about sale March 10,11, 12. The 44" tool cabinet is down to $339. I might have to pick up a second one. They are really churning these things over.

    Makita score

Yes, got the hammer just for the 3ah battery. It's was the cheaper option. Future state, I'll be buying a cordless circular saw, headger and impact gun (tools only)w hich will all benefit from the larger battery

I don't think I'll ever use the hammer drill and thought about selling that. The sub-compact is the one I wanted. Home use.

    Makita score

I've been eying the Makita sub-compact (CX200RB) drill and impact driver for months now at HD. This kit comes with two 2ah batteries and a charger. I told the associate my budget was $200. He gave me 10% off bringing the price to $206.10. As as added bonus, HD is throwing in an extra 2ah battery...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Not sure if this has been mentioned by their polishing pads are junk. I've used the black, orange and blue with my porter cable random orbital polisher. The hook & loop wets out quickly then it flies off and renders the pad useless.

serious mechanics don't use Craftsman, you say?

I'm not a professional, but my 44" HF box is stuffed with a a mix SnapOn and Craftsman....and even, dare I say it, a HF piece or two.

    Harbor Freight 56" Tool Box

I just bought a 44" and its pretty nice all things considered. We'll see if she lasts. I did consider the 56" but in the end decided that I'd rather have two of the 44" boxes....for less money too ($680 for two vs. $720 for one). Either way they're pretty good for the money.

Those with the HF 44" boxes

Do you guys find the drawers are deep enough on this box? I'm probably going to purchase one in the next few days to replace my mid 90's craftsman ball bearing box.
