    Resurrecting a 28-year-old 50x60 Shop

Here an exterior pic of the back of the shop. We recently had some concrete poured in the front of the shop, so I will be posting pictures of that soon so you will be able to see more exterior pics then.

I spoke with the Epoxy Coat rep at length on clear coat. The main benefit would be better UV protection, which in our case didn't seem necessary. Especially considering the cost added for 3000 sq.ft. The floor has been down for right at 2 yrs. and no issue whatsoever with the flakes. I have to...

Thanks Peter! I believe it's solvent base. Here's their website if you'd like to check out more info. http://www.epoxy-coat.com. Awesome product! They have clear coat available to go over it, but we decided not to put down any clear.

I was able to find my receipt for the fixtures. They are Cooper (Metalux series) HBL632-UPL-L5. Each one uses 6 T8 bulbs and if you want, they can be wired on 2 switches, one for 2 bulbs, the other for 4. That way you don't have to have them on full blast all the time. Love them!

The instructions have guidelines on how far to place it from walls, doors, etc., but I put it 15' from the roll-up door.

    Resurrecting a 28-year-old 50x60 Shop

Back in November, we decided to make the investment for a lift. It was money well spent! I would advise anyone who has the space to get one. We went with a Bend-Pak 9,000 lb. asymmetrical model Model # XPR-10A. Bought it from Automotive Service Equipment (www.asedeals.com). I payed $2765.00...

No, I didn't have to pre-drill the beams and purlins because the screws were self-drilling TEK screws.

We used a 29 gauge low rib panel. For more details, click on this link and go to the top of the page 5. http://www.whirlwindsteel.com/elements/uploads/fckeditor/file/Whirlwind%20Building%20Components%20Brochure(1).pdf The panels were attached to the beams and perlins with 5/16" screws (I...

I will look to see if I have any pictures, but each panel overlaps on the sides and the top trim piece is a u-shaped channel. You slide each panel up inside the u-shaped channel before you screw it down. The inside corner trim overlaps the panels. We bought all these from the metal building...

Yes, I am lucky to have a "better half." Sounds like you are as well! :D The fans are split up between 2 different controllers. One controller is for the fans over the shop area and the other controller is for the fans above the "lounge" area.
