1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I really like that shade of gray. That looks much closer to what I was hoping for on the bandsaw.

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Thanks Hoorn. I got lazy with that band saw and used rustoleum light machine gray. I usually will get paint color matched a Sherwin Williams and apply it with a Harbor Freight special HVLP.. The light machine gray was only slightly lighter than the original paint I found behind that Delta...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Thanks Tarnished. I’ve got about 16 machines in the floor of my 2-car garage (along with 2 cars). I’ve got one more buffing head in the rat hole as well that I’ll probably set up with wire wheels. The multiplex you see is a 20a but I have a 30a in the rat hole as well. I was given the 20a...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on GJ so I was happy to see this thread when I returned. I’ve been into Delta tools for a while but space limitations in my shop mean I’m not adding to my collection so much now. Some I’ve restored. Others I use ‘em as I got ‘em. These are a few that I own. Brad

Holy moly, you've got skills and also must have quite the museum down there! Nice work on everything. Love that compressor with the Century motor too. I've got one of those motors in my queue for restoration but unfortunately, not the compressor. Brad

This box just showed up this morning on FB marketplace this morning so since I had an extra top box, I quickly snagged it. Sadly, I don’t have the floor space to keep it so I will be letting the stack go once I have a chance to clean it up a bit and put some paraffin on the friction slides. The...

what is the official Rockwell bandsaw color?

If you pop out the drive screws from and remove the Delta badge on the top wheel cover, you are likely to see a close approximation of the original paint color. You can take that down to your paint dealer who can color match it. I use Sherwin Williams and a cheap $16 Harbor Freight HVLP gun and...

The Gratuitous Vintage Tool Rebuild Thread

Very nice work! Always love seeing beat up old machines given new life. Here are a couple of before and after shots of my work. I happen to be partial to Delta machines. The first image is a 1946 Unisaw I found at the landfill that they let me take for free. The second image shows it...

Yeah, I certainly did even though it was a bit more expensive than the original stack.

Picked up this super clean 1955 10-drawer top box today for only $30. It will replace the 3-drawer top box that I picked up several years back as part of a set. I picked up that set for $20.

1938 Delta 220 w "jack shaft" VERY RARE

When I was paging through the Bluebook, I immediately recalled seeing yours on GJ and OWWM. I wish I had it on my own DP220 but I guess I'm going to have to settle for a 3Phase with VFD.

1938 Delta 220 w "jack shaft" VERY RARE

This was recently posted to the Vintage Machinery site and this page shows a DP220 with a jack-shaft similar to yours. It's hard to tell from this lone photo how similar it is but it must have been offered by Delta somehow though I haven't seen any in the catalogs.

This is my recently completed 1940, belt-driven Delta No. 1282 Buffing Head. Still need to complete the stand and connect to motor. I’d been looking for one for a while and came across this on FB marketplace last year.

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

The motor is too crusty yet to know which Delta motor I’ve got yet. It looks to be just like a Westinghouse manufactured Delta similar to another I’ve got which is 1725 rpms.

I picked up this 1946 Delta DP yesterday for $69. It has the No. 1 Morse taper and a shop built two-pulley speed reducer on it. The table appears free of any blemishes. Brad
