I dont know if all old hardware has the ability to boot from USB but this is likely your problem with your attempt at installing from a cd.

If it makes you feel better I also checked into getting the parts directly from the factory and it was going to take just as long and cost more after shipping. After the repair my pump works good so no complaints there.

Have the same pump and also ordered from Mastertoolrepair. My experience was that they dont stock the parts but order them when you place your order. Mine took 2-3 weeks to arrive.

My guess is any solution you come up with will cost you more money and frustration in the long run. Even if you need permits and an engineer it will be a one time cost. Any slide system you do find will be expensive and still will make you remove both cars if you need to pull out the one away...
