I'm only 10'6" floor to ceiling. 10'2" to my light fixtures (which could be moved). Anyway, I have no problem stacking two cars, although if I had larger vehicles it wouldn't work. Two sports cars or one normal car with the small sports car on top is no problem.
I'm 10'2" floor to the light fixtures. Could gain another 4" if I rearranged the lights. When I had my M Coupe, I could put either car on top and raise the lift all the way. It's a Backyard Buddy, so it doesn't go very high, but works great for my purposes.
Moved my 4-post lift to the 3rd stall. I originally had it in the middle of the garage. I was ok with the two cars stacked, but I realized there was no way to ever have two open stalls next to each other. I think this is a better option, I just now need to raise the door tracks on that second...
Cheap A/V receiver, two satellite speakers (could do 4) and a Subwoofer I picked up at Goodwill on the cheap. Plus a free flat screen TV my kids gave me. I stream everything through a Roku, plus it allows me to stream video out there as well.
Many thanks for all the responses. I'll start researching. Was not even aware of outfits like SendCutSend. That's seems like a great resource at a reasonable cost. I may just start off with a 3D printer to get my feet wet.
One more question. How messy is a plasma table? I don't have a...
Thanks for all the responses. I guess I don't have a real plan so I'll work on that first. I'd probably just like to do 2d type stuff with a plasma cutter. Signs, brackets, etc. I've also always wondered about being able to 3d print parts for old items that are no longer available. Example...
So, I'm 60 years old and recently retired. Pretty handy and somewhat computer literate. I've long considered getting a CNC plasma table and/or a CNC mill or lathe, maybe a 3D printer. The software learning curve has always scared me off. What's the best way to learn? I've dabbled with a...
Replaced stereo head unit in my son's Jeep over the weekend. He's 23 now and was home for a weekend visit. He's starting to realize the value in being able to DIY instead of pay someone. We had a great weekend.
I used a kit from these guys. https://ddmgaragedoors.com/parts/high-lift/custom-garage-door-high-lift-conversion-kit-quote.php
You can figure it out yourself as well, but this eliminates the guesswork and is still a DIY once you get the kit from them. I did mine in a few hours and am happy...
I have Eufy cameras and doorbell with no cloud account. They all report to a hub with local storage. They are using wifi and a phone app, so technically I guess they're accessible through the internet if that's the concern, but the video files are not stored on the cloud unless you choose to...
