This showed up in the Portland OR. Craigslist. A very cool old pattern makers vise. The price dosent seem to unreasonable either.

Drives: I don't know anything about the maker, but that is a beautiful piece of art. If I had an extra 3'gs laying around that would be inside my house somewhere, maybe even remodel the kitchen around it. But definitely not in the vise budget as of now.

I'm not even sure where this came from, I found it amongst my tools at work. Until I did some research I had no idea what it was. That is one of the neat things I like about these old tools is the stories behind them.

New brass hammer prices are ridiculous I was looking all summer at garage sales then within a week I found 2 Proto 1lb'ers, a replaceable brass head 1 lb and a nice unmarked about 3 lb. All were picked up at great prices, anymore if I see any brass almost anything I buy it

Thank you. For the most part the smaller ones are good. My 5" are like new and the 6" jaws are hammered but I have a plan to replace those. I do plan on having Kevin Make me some jaws for really cool 6" Simplex that has a neat history but needs some love. That will be later this winter as well
