    Floating house

People have managed to sail narrow boats over the North Sea into Holland etc. Others have managed to row small boats over the Atlantic. So maybe you could sail one over to the USA? I wouldn't be anywhere the front of the line for crew though :) Long-isg, narrow, flat bottomed boat over a...

Restoring an old ENGLISH phone booth

Small world . . . born in Poole, worked in LA, now sat in Yorkshire, England, reading about a British phone box in California. Ton of speed cameras all over the UK, as well as ones in vans that move around - makes driving a 16 Challenger R/T a little more exciting than it ought to be over here...

Compressor in basement. Where h20 separator?

I have two of these - one plumbed in permanently in the line in the garage, some distance from the compressor, and another ready to be connected into longer supply hoses at point of use. Never seen a sign of moisture at the outlet. https://www.pcltireinflationusa.com/product/drop-out-filter/...

    >>>>> UK Hot Tool Deals - Post Them Here! <<<<<

Not exactly a hot deal, but don't laugh - Aldi 1/4 drive socket set. https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-socket-bit-set-46-piece/p/805783511164800 I bought one a few years ago as a "doesn't matter if I break it" set to be abused - and I have. I've even turned down a few sockets down to get...

The one thing i miss about craftsman/sears….

I was a fan of Sears and Craftsman, despite living in the UK. I didn't travel to the USA until Jan 1999 for three months work - I soon discovered Sears at the local mall in Jamestown, NY, and the hardware section became a place of regular visits . . . my suitcases going home were rather heavier...

    Can of Rustpaint Rusted out!

I was amused to find a can of Waxoyl in my shed with a rusted out bottom . . . Waxoyl sold in the UK as a rust preventing cavity wax top be sprayed inside vehicle box sections. In their defence, I reckon it rusted from the outside in, and the 30 yr old Peugeot I reasonably regularly spray it...

    Nord-Lock Wedge-Locking Washers

Use a load of them in all sizes in can making machine manufacture - work very well if used as designed. Placing a plain washer underneath them defeats the their action though. As will using one one on one end of a nut and bolt passing through something - need one under the nut and another...

Use a 240v British tool in US

Woody, all you seem to have there is a UK to US adaptor - so its still only running 110V and not the 240V it supposed to have. Those adaptors are sold over here in a twin pack with one that will allow us to plug stuff into mainland Europe sockets. Small capacity step up transformers are sold...
