I know it may sound excessive but have you considering putting some sort of prox switch with a red/green light to show the status/height of the lift so you don't rip the roof off either car. I would do something to ensure the lift is never dropped down 2-3 inches on accident whether it's depower...

I dipped a ratchet handle probably 5 years ago in plastidip, not aeresol and it's held up okay. I only did one "dip" per say but overall, not bad.

Rite Hite Revolution fans are better IMO. Much less strobing due to the fewer blades. BAF had some fairly common motor failures when i worked on them 5-6 years back.

I have several of the Shun classics. 5" Santoku, 3" paring, 3" wavy paring, utility, and the 8" chef is on our wedding registry. Great blades...just need proper care. Love the knife storage. I'm still trying to decide between an upright, magnetic knife block like the picture below or something...
