This is all good info. It seems the general recommendation is protection at the service panel and at each of the mini-split condensers. Why do you need the ones at the individual mini-splits? Why won't the one at the main panel cover it?
Several years ago I bought the DWS779. At that point, the only difference between the DWS779 and DWS780 was the shadow cut line and it was much cheaper to buy the OEM kit and install it rather than springing for the 780. At the time, I think I only paid $80 with shipping for the kit from MM...
Not a pro but I have put on a few garage door torsion springs. I would guess that the cable jumped because the springs were not under sufficient tension and the door got slammed in the up position. In general, I would agree with you that the springs do not lose tension, perhaps they were never...
What did you end up getting and how did it work? I have a composite deck project and need to make some 14' straight end cuts and was considering just getting the Bora 100" circular track saw guide to use with my Milwaukee M18 7-1/4" circular saw. I just don't see buying the dedicated track...
It seems to me that the 3 pole solenoid design is a problem on lawn mowers which see a lot of moisture. The 4 pole with a dedicated ground would be more reliable, When I replace it, I'm going to put in a 4 pole.
Went to start the mower today at the remote cabin and got a no crank. Spartan mower (only about 40 hours) generated a #12 error code that indicates battery issue or solenoid wiring short. Battery was just charged but jumped it just to make sure without success. Was scratching my head if it...
I had read that all the inexpensive pin type moisture meters are the same and purchased the HF mini moisture meter #67143 to use for firewood. It seems to give consistent relative measures and is OK for my needs. It was really cheap which might be right up your alley L.Cheapo - maybe $12 about...
I work out of my garage at home but also have a remote cabin where I need tools. I bought a set of Milwaukee Pack Out boxes where I keep my primary tools. I work out of big tool boxes and the Milwaukee boxes in the garage. Every time I go to the cabin, whether I plan to do work or not, I load...
Really sounds like the capacitor. Could test it if you have the right kind of multi-meter or visually inspect to see if it is swollen. If not, when trying to start, carefully give it a spin. If it starts, definitely capacitor. Easy and cheap to replace.
I have an old pole barn that has rough cut vertical wood siding with small gaps between the boards and gravel floor. The gaps are relatively small but you can see light through them from the inside. The roof is metal and seems pretty tight. I was going to run power and install a sub-panel...
