Do you have it on a separate circuit? I have a couple of 220V circuits for my air compressor and machine tools, and have an unused one that I have planned for a welder. I was considering having a switch for the water heater on the welder circuit, thinking that I would never use both at the same...
Hi all,
I will be plumbing my detached garage for a sink, and am looking for water heater options. I'd rather not run gas out there, so I am looking for electric options. Anyone have experience with small tankless heaters?
The sink will be used primarily for cleaning parts, washing hands, etc...
Re: You never know WHO you might be talking to
Thanks for sharing, Jack.
As someone who's first couple of cars were Datsun 510's, I am familiar with the Pete Brock story. I've also spent a few days at Willow, and turns 8 and 9 are both exhilarating and challenging. I've never gotten them...
I used OSB for my interior garage walls when I rebuilt it last year. Because I kept the 100 year old exterior, I lined the inside of the (new) framing with a vapor barrier and R12. I was going to sheetrock over the OSB, but then I remembered that it was a garage, after all. So, I painted the OSB...
1: Glad that you're okay and the damage was limited to a bit of cleanup.
2: Thanks for the heads up, as I use linseed oil sometimes when building bicycle wheels.
3: Tell us more about the 911 in the garage.
4: What's the band playing at the end of the video?
^This. I used Keycreator (formerly Cadkey) to not only model my garage for construction, but to figure out where I'd put benches, machine tools, cars, etc.
Granted, once the garage was built, the layout completely changed, but you get the idea.
I plucked my "little" Select 6 x 26 knee mill out of the back of an F250 with an engine hoist. My guess is that the mill weighs 1000# or so, and the engine hoist handled it easily and it was a cinch putting it into place.
FWIW, I've moved plenty of machinery with pry bars and iron pipe. If one...
The machine shop where I work has had its compressors located outside for the last 22+ years I've been there. When we changed locations 9 yeas ago, the compressor sat outside without an enclosure for at least three years before it found its way into an enclosed "hut."
Keep in mind that I'm in...
630sq ft? Showoff!
I just rebuilt my 20x25ft shop this summer and even added a 6x20 extension. So nope, I still fall short of your 630.
Congrats, and post pics.
I've worked in a machine shop with "rag service" for two decades. After ten years of going home with one "accidentally" hanging out of my back pocket, I have a large garbage bag worth. I wash them at the local laundromat when necessary.
And no, my boss doesn't give a ****. He actually laughed...
I second this idea. Mine has served me quite well in the years I've owned it, and it is light enough to hang from hooks in the ceiling when not in use.
