When your neighbors don't like your new garage....

Very true, BUT not very neighborly. Dude had to know it would cause a problem but didn't care.

What is a good sound deadening material for a compressor closet?

Another thumbs up for a mineral wool type insulation product. Double 5/8" drywall with staggered seams works well too. I built a home theater with similar construction techniques and other than the low freq booms, you can't hear any of the sound when you are outside off the room.

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Any coupons available for a roll-around oil pan? The type that you would use with a lift? I thought I remember seeing one advertised a while ago for $39.99 but the cheapest one in the store last week was $60+. Thanks!

    Bend-pak support

Really? The bolts in question are not in a location where their failure would cause a problem. But, everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is that Jeff provides great customer service. :)

    Bend-pak support

I'm not under the opinion that everything made in China is junk, just as being made in the USA is not a guarantee of quality. Bend-pak still owns the design and specifies what materials are to be used. I will agree that some of the hardware that comes with the lift are junk. I stripped a...

    Bend-pak support

There are 2 holes in the top, one for the ladder and one for the main cable. There are also 2 tabs welded on the underside to allow the plate to be bolted to the vertical posts. The tabs are not centered in the plate, they are offset towards the rear of the plate. The tabs on my one bad...

    lift safety question

Just install in a 2 pole switch rated for at least 25A on the column above the motor. I priced a 30a switch at lowes the other day and it was around $10. No reason to overthink it. JMHO

    Bend-pak support

Just a quick thanks to Jeff at Bend-pak. I was installing my HD-9 on Saturday (by myself) and just as I was getting ready to connect the cables I realized that one of the plates on the top of my columns was made incorrectly. i remembered seeing Jeff's posts on this forum before so I sent...

    HF Earthquake 3/8" impact wrench

I believe the only reason to buy the earthquake is too get the high torque. If you don't need the higher torque, why spend the extra money for the earthquate. I have a 1/2" Earthquate and I love it... but I bought a cheap 3/8" HF gun specifically because it was lower torque.

Harborfreight, "Twin Hammer Composite Impact Wrench"

Ditto on the Earthquake. You can always use more torque, might as well get as much as you can afford. I bought one 2 weeks ago. Works great.

    "nother lift question

Texas Aggie - what do the cookie sheet pans from Autozone cost? I'm getting a Bend-pak HD-9 and I have a price from them for drip trays (plastic). I thought about getting a local metal shop to fab me some instead, but maybe the Autozone route is the way to go! I plan on parking my daily...

    1 Bay @ a TIME ??

The shelf life of 2 (or more) packets of part A material mixed together is no different than one packet, as long as it is kept properly in a sealed container. Does that answer your question?

    1 Bay @ a TIME ??

E-C is recommending you mix all of your part A together so that you don't have any color differences. Then, when you are ready to do a bay, you would mix the appropriate amount of A and B together. Once you mix A and B the clock starts running!

    Garage Light Bulb Problem

Are you using bulbs made for a opener? If not, are you using a 'rough service" bulb? There is a significant amount of vibration associated with most openers. If you take a bulb out that doesn't work, have you tried it in another fixture? That will tell you whether the bulb or the socket is...
