I'd tend to agree except there ain't no way this Ridgid could measure 8" (the catalog number) that way. So is my vise different from the one in the catalog? Or did Ridgid measure it with less than full engagement? Or Based on the catalog illustrations, it looks like the latter, so their...

Wow that's an amazing amount of great info — U rock! This will be my main indoor bench vise, replacing one that's a bit weak and not as high quality. I expect to get a lot of use out of it. Thanks for making me feel great about choosing the right vise! What a great forum, so much knowledge...

Thanks Kevin! Specs look good. My jaws are not quite 5" wide anymore after grinding them down, about 3/16" narrower. It only opens to 7-1/2" when the screw is fully engaged in the nut, but engagement at 8" opening is still probably adequate. Is there a standard for how that's measured? Mine...

Anyone want to educate me about this Ridgid 50SN I just picked up? At first I assumed it was Columbian-made because I previously had a Columbian with similar Tee-jaws. But now I think I'm seeing hints that some Simplex-made Ridgids had Tee-jaws also? I'm interested in what you all think for...

Have you watched Jeremy Schmidt build his? I think it was on the video where he was making an optional add-on for it when he started shaping something with an angle grinder and then said "oh wait, I almost forgot, I have a belt grinder now" Also notable (but not for you making your BG, that...

Great looking machine! Is that the Revolution design from Housemade? Was it fun to build, and would you do anything different if you had to do it over? I'm asking because I have a BG build on the back burner. I have a functional BG already but I want something more rigid and powerful. Did...

Here's my very modest contri: A KBDF-27D from KB Electronics, powering a 1.5 HP motor on my 1982 vintage Taiwanese lathe. Pretty bare-bones, but the one thing I did that's noteworthy is I added an LED tachmometer readout to the front of it. Click the pic to go to Flickr, then Right arrow to...

    vintage Wilton replacement jaws?

Lookin' good in (on) those jeans baby! I heard via PM that wiltonviseparts.net will be back in business soon. I also ordered some Wilton-made serrated steel jaws from Zoro, won't know if they fit until they get here, but I can return them. So either way, looks like I'll be squishing things...

    vintage Wilton replacement jaws?

Yeah that'd probly be fine. I just had a slight preference for keeping it original. It's a vise for using though, not a museum, so practicality wins. Cheers Mark

    vintage Wilton replacement jaws?

Hi all, my first post. Just got a Wilton 3 inch, 9300. 1964 (I think – the "6" in the date stamp is so shallow it could be something else.) The DAPO (dumb-*** previous owner) managed to ruin the jaws, but I was able to get them off. What are my options for getting replacements...
