    OSB Again!!

I had pretty good success painting the OSB in my shop as well. I did as others have suggested and primed with a decent primer and top coated with some latex I found on clearance at lowes. I actually get compliments on the way it turned out. Edit....BTW, I used Valspar primer and paint

Most cost effective option for building a shop?

I hear ya in terms of building on a budget. I am in the process of building a 24' X 30' with 8' ceiling pole construction. If you are willing to do some work yourself you can save a whole bunch. I had the building built with insulation, concrete, 1-16' insulated door, 1- man door, 1 9'X7' door...

    My Small Welding Shop

Hi e-tek, These are pretty common in the south. I am not exactly sure of your question. The smoker pit in the picture is known as a offset pit. This pit has two cooking chambers. A horizontal and a vertical. How it works, is the fire is at the back in the firebox and the heat is indirect...

    My Small Welding Shop

Hi Hofford, I went to Home Depot and bought 3/4" j-channel they use for vinyl siding (less than $4.00 for a 12' section). The metal i used is what was "protection" sheets used when packaging the building metal.....the builder was going to scrap it anyway

To fill or not to fill that is the Q

Fill, That is my opinion and I could be wrong. I have a simlar set up as your and we had to build in the lowest part of my yard due to space. But, we dug out and filled. then i dug a french drain on the side of the shop that most of the water accumilates. So far no problems and we got 3" of...

    Patio Stone Installation

Good point, I live in Western Kentucky.....Our climate is pretty mild here. I did dig it out (by hand), made a gravel base and there is a french drain running along the opening of the garage door entrance around to the back of the garage. I covered that with plastic where the stone is, I chose...

    Patio Stone Installation

Hey all, 1st post! I wish I would have found this board before starting my Garage Build. I grew up in a welding shop as a kid, and you can really never get that out of your blood. I decided to build a small welding shop behind my house. Anyway, the shop is almost done (24' X 30' X 9'...
