Flexible Neck MIG Gun - Do I Need One?

The rules allow for MIG welded cages. I like the Vulcan welding cart; build quality is good, and I like how it's laid out. The only drawback is the size, but I generally have sufficient room in the shop to move it to where it's needed. Thanks for the input! Scott

Flexible Neck MIG Gun - Do I Need One?

Just realized I could get a flexible neck for my MIG and it sure seems that one of these would come in handy, especially for finishing the roll cage in my '72 Javelin. Do y'all use these? If so, do you use a normal gun until you need a flex neck and then swap guns? Or do you just leave the...

Mexican food seems to be difficult to find overseas, but there were two Mexican restaurants in Itaewon, a large restaurant district just off-base in Seoul. There were a few burger restaurants in the same area. On a related note, when we lived in Naples, there was one Mexican restaurant in the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

The new top roller was difficult to turn. I probably could have figured out why (i.e., the shaft was pressed in too deep) but it made more sense to me to swap in the old roller with a new seal.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

In the garage today? Chasing my tail. I removed the new top roller that I installed on my dozer last weekend. Disassembled it and harvested the $140 (!) seal from it. Disassembled and cleaned the old top roller that I had removed from the dozer last weekend, and installed the new seal...

One of the most interesting and delicious meals I had in Korea was at a Mexican/Korean fusion restaurant just off base in Yongsan (Seoul) - kimchi chili cheese fries. Sounds nasty but it was good as hell!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

In the garage today? Redneck CrossFit! After work today, I went to the gym to lift some weights, but I skipped my usual aerobic workout and went to the shop to finish torquing the track pad bolts on the dozer. I torqued about 150 1/2" bolts in 3 iterations - initial torque to 48 ft/lbs...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

A few years ago, I built some wooden wheel cribs, too. Figured since I was building some I might as well film a video and post it to my YouTube channel. Not sure why, but the video really took off -- almost half a million views and has put a few thousand $ in my pocket. Odd that so many...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wrassled with a grease gun. It was touch and go for a minute, but I prevailed. Epic battle with John Deere bulldozer injectors, Part Deux.
