Gregor, thanks for taking the time to type that.. certainly have heard reference to the "golden" hour before but your explanation enhanced my nascent understanding.. I need to make the effort to plan around timing, to help achieve that (comedy like) timing you described. Look forward to...
as an aspiring, and not very good, photographer, I'd be grateful if you would share a little "how" on these shots.. the ability to capture two very different lights and get the proper exposure for the outer (darker) and the inner (brighter and action).. are they layers, or a single shot?
I like the use of the vaulted ceiling and that open-ended wall to create some hidden storage... very clever. Lovely cars. I dream of owning one (literally, one) one day.
Edit: would love to see more of the lake-house as well. Another one of my dreams is that we will eventually settle in a...
You Sir, take the prize. I pulled the working fixture and the second light was fed from the first, and one of the black wires had snapped outside of the wire nut.
Thanks VERY MUCH. :pimpflash
I'll check the junction box on the working light, had not thought of that, but I don't recall there being double wires (three total) in the wire nuts on the working fixture.. will check it.
The only place I've seen the 1-into-2 wiring is at the light switch, where the source (out of the switch)...
yes, I tested the (Klein) voltage tester on functioning sources prior to testing the light's wiring.. just based on how close it has to be to an outlet before the alarm goes off, I'd guess it would not read through sheetrock, and certainly not through sheetrock + mirror (wall mounted mirror...
Gents (and Ladies);
home is vintage 1998, in Colorado, standard builder-grade bathroom..
replaced two vanity light units over a bathroom sink as part of a remodel.. NOT an electrician but have done dozens of fans/light fixtures in home renovations and never had this problem...
both lights...
yes, new problem after 8 months... started about 3 weeks ago and I'm just getting to it now.. noone's touched it since I installed it, and it had no timer feature..
the bulbs that came in the box with the fan.. 40W chandelier style.. ran it today with the entire globe off and the fan running, still cut out on me, and it (at least the surface area around it) was not hot..:headscrat
Basic facts:
- hampton bay celing fan/light installed (by me) in our bedroom in the last 9 months
- I'm no electrician, but I've probably installed 20 of these things in the last ten years, with no issues
- fan/light is hooked to a two-switch wall panel in a home built in 1998
- one switch does...
well holy s...
i went out to check the boxes and one (of the three) had a sticker on the boxes that says "photo sensor included"... it's not actually printed on the box :eyecrazy:
double embarassed: :o:o
Not sure how long a photo sensore requires to "trip", but I put my finger over it and...
I have three exterior wall lights bracketing my two garage doors.
I removed the existing (functional) lights. No unusual wiring: black-black, white-white. The old lights were NOT grounded but there were ground wires in the receptacle.
Installed new wall sconces from Lowes. Black-black...
