If it was me, I would bring your 50 amp 240 volt "four wire" circuit to a sub panel inside your garage/ shop. (sub panels are cheap) That way you can do whatever you want from there. Install your 30 amp 220 for your compressor, along with some 20 amp. 120 volt receptacle circuits. In theory the...
