I am planning to replace my deck boards on my deck and i want to build my own deck wrecker. I have and old pry bar that i plan to use and some pipe. But i am wondering if welding the pry bar to the pipe will make the pry bar too brittle to use. Any advise?

funny thing is i just bought one off the truck for less than 50 bucks. Dealer had all his hammers 10% off because he had so many. I bet he has 15 to 20 green hammers just on that one truck.
