Yes. You have the air supply, electrically operated valves, and air powered solenoids that lift the locks. failure at any of these points and the locks fail in the locked position. If the failure is such that the air won't shut off, as described above, it fails in the open position. If the...

It is a matter of trouble shooting. Three potential sources, electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic. Remove air pressure and they close, you have an air valve problem. stay open, you have a mechanical issue with the locks or the solenoids, likely from moisture and corrosion. If you turn the power...

A couple thoughts. Check the circuit breaker under the top panel. I've had that pop a couple times. Seem to remember the lights were on then as well. Also wonder about your micro switches but that may just affect going up.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the water, the seals will wipe that off when the cylinders compress, however if you're washing off something particularly grimy, you should wipe them down, and blow off the seal area. Any grit in there might damage the seals.

Yeah, I can't argue with that statement. My crystal ball didn't show me the last 2 year sh!t show, and shortages. warrenbrown said: …I haven't seen anyone comment on the lift's stability especially at a full height model. With all those links in the scissors my gut suggests that it might...

Yes, they are proud of those things. I have a 99 F150 which is similar, lift-wise. I made a short term fix with some 4x4s. Greg Smith says not to lift with the inboard 4 inches, so I attached some 3/4 plywood squares outboard of that for stability and to spread the load out. I set the the rubber...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT The Time Machine Garage - 32x24 with loft

As always, beautiful work. I won't bug you about finishing the brickwork anymore. Now I'll start bugging you about that fancy tile you need to put on the floor. I noticed your BF air compressor under your superduty storage shelf. Is that the the temporary place you installed it the first time...

I've got a quirk in my system that I haven't seen mentioned before. It has happened twice now. This weekend I was working on my daughter's Honda Fit. I had it about 6 inches off the ground. I went to raise it further and my finger slipped off the button causing a bit of a stutter. It popped the...

If you're not in a major hurry, I'd hold off a few months. I'm willing to bet early next year, some, if not all, of these tariffs will disappear. The guy that created them won't be running the show anymore.

Mattb422, If I understand you correctly, you're saying that the lifts sit flush with the surrounding garage floor, but are 1/4" out of level, front to back on the platforms. A quarter inch over a 5 1/2 foot span isn't a major concern. The car or truck will never know the difference. The...

Atlas FM9SL Scissor Lift Flush-Mount Install

The air requirements are minuscule. You could get away with smallest one you can find. However, if you have a lift, an air compressor is generally standard equipment for things like impact wrenches for removing wheels and powering other handy air tools, so they are going to be the driver for...

Many people have suggested putting a rubber mat over the platforms while they are down, to plug the gaps, and keep everything out, when the lift is not in use. TSC and places like that, sell horse mats that you can buy by the foot. They are heavy and won't move around very easily.

Hey look. JD's a newbie. Welcome aboard. I did a FM9SL instl in a similarly sized shop. Mine is 26 feet deep as well, with 10 1/2 foot wall and a vaulted ceiling that is 13 1/2 feet at the peak. The lift ended up being centered between the front and back wall. I purchased a garage door with...
