Well, I went with a Raynor Affina with Edgewater panels and colonial windows. $2050 Installed, less $100 rebate and 30% tax credit on the non labor portion.

Can I directly compare R-Values across companies? Seems I read somewhere that each company can rate its stuff and, consequently, the resulting R-Values are only good for comparing different products within a company.

You guys know anything about Amarr doors? The highest R-Value is about 15.6 but they are not terribly expensive. The guy said about $1150 installed for the Olympus 500. http://www.amarr.com/residential/browse_material/steel/olympus/features.html Comments?

Is there a brand of garage doors that outclasses the rest in terms of R-Value? How about the sweet spot of R-Value verses price? I'm thinking in terms of an insulated steel door, but if there is a better material in terms of insulating value, please advise! Cameron Reddy

ixlr8, I like it! I scrounged around and found a price for a 7' double door, installed, of $1,500 and some change. That seems like a pretty decent price. How does your door compare with other insulated doors? I finally got my heater wired up... Took me three days, two temper tantrums...

Boy, is this frustrating. My pictures show up on other forums that I use... This software is pretty similar to the others... but perhaps it doesn't like my Mac. I've posted my pictures with full access privileges to my MobilMe Gallery. I've linked them with the web address for each individual...

njfl, That's part of what I wanted to know! Seals between the panels... Somewhere I saw a reference to a tape that can be applied to the gaps. Anyone know anything about that? And do you think I should add something to the back of the door as it sits, that is, add something to the already...
