Wilton Tradesman Vises Now Made in Taiwan

Well.... this stinks. I saw the news about the Taiwanese/China vises coming our way and panicked. I did what every tool nut should do and started buying all the things. I was shocked to see a Wilton 63199#1745 in the Amazon Warehouse deals for $240 in “Acceptable” condition with scratches...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Hey guys, I’ve got an old Delta-Rockwell DP that I’m in the process of refurbishing. I’ve already gotten a lot of good tips from this thread and was hoping to a bit of advice. I’m down to the point of cleaning up the column. I don’t have a lathe so it looks like I’ll be using the sanding belt...

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

A quick update for those that helped in the process of my decision. I ended up picking this up yesterday. And oh boy what a tool it is. I'm coming for a Ryobi kit so the difference in quality and performance is staggering. That is not to say that the Ryobi is a bad tool, the Ryobi is served me...

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

I'm not sure why you are so annoyed with my post or how you came to that conclusion. I've replied twice? in this thread, once with a statement regarding the LSA gamble and the other with a Ridgid characteristic that I think is beneficial. Hardly pushing. If anything, I've been leaning the...

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

I will say backwards compatibility is one thing that is extremely attractive with the Ridgid tools. While other brands play games with new batteries and mounts, Ridgid seems committed to keeping the battery format the same.

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

As someone mentioned, it may come down to color preference. They are all really that close and I don't think I can go wrong with any of them. I suppose that's a good problem for us all. There's a lot of competition and no clear standout. I do like the Dewalt offerings but their compact...

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

I do have a driver... and a drill, recip saw, and HID flashlight. I've wanted a new setup for awhile but I have so many of the Ryobi tools, I've held off until now.

Investing in a cordless system: Ridgid Gen5x or Milwaukee M18 Fuel?

Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong. I believe it is simply that the brushless tools are given the "Fuel" tag.
