Installed 6 fluorescent lights, massive radio interference

Yeah this was my first real electrical/lighting project, still have a lot to learn. Man I musta been distracted when I wrote my last post because it wasn't accurate at all, ha. I picked up the lights on sale and they happened to be 120/240 compatible. At the time I was thinking all about the...

Installed 6 fluorescent lights, massive radio interference

Just put up 6 4 lamp t8 fixtures, with intentions on putting up 3 more. Flip the switch on just 3 (doesn't matter which set) and it turns my garage into one of those CIA bug free quiet rooms ya see in the movies.. People pay thousands of dollars for that kinda safety, and apparently all they'd...

    Safe ceiling load?

Hey folks, I'm trying to get a better idea of how much I can safely hang from my ceiling. Now I'm not looking to get crazy and hang everything, but I would like to know my limits. It's a 40x40x12 pole barn with 4/12 pitch. I vaguely remember the builder mentioning 5lbs/sq ft. I also laid 4x8...

    Air Compressor Motor Problems

Both old and new motor are rated at 21 amps, and 3450 RPM. Only difference is the old motor was for 3 phase power, new is single phase.

    Air Compressor Motor Problems

Well I'm fairly certain the motor has failed. Connections are secure. I'm getting 240V between Red and Black (T1 and T2 on motor) wires. 120V between T1 and ground. 120V between T2 and ground. I find it odd though it turned on, couple minutes later I flipped the pressure switch to OFF for a...

    Air Compressor Motor Problems

Well right now I'm getting power in the wire between pressure switch and motor, though I never heard any humming of other noises after it kicked off. Guess I'll just take it back and get a new one, I just wanna try to make sure the same thing won't happen again, if it was something on my end.

    Air Compressor Motor Problems

Picked up an Ingersoll Rand 80 gallon 5hp single stage compressor for cheap on Craigslist. I had to pick up a new motor and pressure switch. Wired everything up, flipped the switch to auto, and it filled the tank to about 120 PSI. It's supposed to turn on at 105 PSI and off at 135 PSI. I bled...
