    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

BoilermakerFan, your house and barn combo look good, should be a nice setup. The cabin is probably at 1/8"=1'-0" or 3/32", I don't recall. Those are the scales we tend to use most often that strikes a nice balance between speed, details, etc. Some models have to be printed in multiple pieces...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

Thought I would share some 3d printing experience- Architect with a garage and car problem here. International harvester problem too, but that's a whole different thread. I bought a makerbot replicator + over a year ago for the office and while it took some time to dial in, we're able to...

Question on Vintage motor wiring- 'propellair'

For any electricians out there, looking for some help before heading to the motor shop- I have a very old Robbins & Myers motor for a 'propellair' fan. Short story is it was hanging from the rafters in my first house's garage, wired with a lamp wire to a very shady breaker box. Old man job, but...

Storm Water Runoff Collection and Handling Questions

Try this website: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/subject/advcoun/stormwater/Manual_DraftJan05/Section09-jan-rev.pdf 'Rational Method' is a good starting point for calculating runoff on areas under 20 acres, though for just 1 acre the margin of error of any method is going to be quite high...

An interesting concept from a car guy's perspective

Since noone had any pics up- here's one. Badly rusted Cornwell Ratchet, powder coated 'Cast Iron' from Eastwood. Reverse and exposed back pieces coated with Eastwood 'Diamond Clear.' Brass looking color showing through is from a brass bristle brush prior to powder/spray- interesting effect imo...

Estate haul; now I've gone and DONE it!!

Took a look at the fan I have, I don't see stampings on the propellor, but the Fan housing says 'Propellair' and 'Columbus, OH.' Looks like the relief cut on mine is slightly different, so maybe yours is from a drone! Always thought it would be cool to paint mine as if an airplane propellor for...

Estate haul; now I've gone and DONE it!!

Well, the aluminum propeller looks exactly like one on a ventilation fan from my old garage. It has a cast housing and support structure for the motor too. Nice haul!

    44 Bikes Frame Shop

Fortyfour, Try www.hooverfence.com for your 'lift-off' door hardware. Specifically, I used these on some 400lb oak gates, they worked great, easy install and no sag at all: http://www.hooverfence.com/woodfence/8307.htm Also, shop looks great. Cheers!

Show us your wooden gate and fencing

Here's a gate that now spans my driveway. Oak is the same as the fencing material, any decent fence supplier should carry it in 16' lengths. Each gate half must be near 200 pounds, but has yet to sag! Invest in good hardware. Cheers!

    Working from your own garage...

Really interesting perspectives from everyone, especially those who do the same/ similar work on the side as they do for a day job. I do the same, though as an architect. I actually find most side job clients I've had are blown away by the service and attention to detail they get, while most of...
