    36x60 footer, Pole vs Stick?

If you plan to insulate and finish the inside out, then you would be better off just stick framing it.

2 1/4 ton Intergram Machine Tool jack

I'm going to look at a drill press of this brand tomorrow, it looks heavy duty from the pic on c/l

Just pulled the trigger on a 2 post lift - 9,000 lb. Atlas

Thanks josh, and yes I was talking about the horizontal arms. Mine flex if I rock a vehicle up and down from the bumper. I saw that harbor freight has 2 ton under hoist jack stands on sale for $59 each, I'm gonna get a couple of them for added stability.

    2x4 vs 2x6 garage walls

2x6 walls are worth every penny in my oppinion for r value and especially strength if over 9 ft tall

Just pulled the trigger on a 2 post lift - 9,000 lb. Atlas

I'm curious about how much the lift arms flex? What have you noticed in your experience shaking aprox 150 vehicles on lifts? I recently installed a 2 post 10k forward brand ALI certified lift in my garage and the posts themselves flexed. The posts were very close to my ceiling so I reinforced...

First impact set - deep or shallow?

I vote shallow, most of the time you don't need deep sockets and impacts are already hard to get into tight spaces so the shorter sockets are more useful IMO

Torque spec for lift base plate anchors?

I just installed a used 10k forward lift in my garage. I had no instruction manual to go by but I've used wedge anchors in constuction quite a bit. I torqued the anchors to 150 ft lbs and the top of all the bolts are 1/4" or less above the nut. I drove the anchors down to where I could only...

A different way to anchor a 2 post lift

My concrete is 4" with wire mesh. I just bought a slightly used 10000 lb forward lift about 1200 less than a new one. When I went to look at it the first time we put a jeep grand cherokee on it and I pushed up and down on the bumper and watched the columns flex! This is only aprox 1/2 capacity...

    new lift installed, Danmar 10ACX

I looked at an older (made in usa) bendpak a couple weeks ago and it looked like I could simply cut 2 sections of pipe to space the cables lower. There is a decent ammount of threaded adjustment on each cable also which would let me fine tune the length. I would assume the new (made in china)...

That does help, thanks gabe! The shipping weight must vary between websites. One other thing I noticed is the danmar is listed with each lift arm rated at 2250 lbs? 2250x4 = 9000 lbs, but it's rated as a 10000 lb lift. Do you know anything about that?

While comparing the danmar and bendpak lift I found the shipping weight to be 1804 lbs on the bendpak and the danmar is 1560 lbs. hmmm.

Thanks for the reply, what's the biggest vehicle you have lifted with this lift? I work on cars and trucks on the side in my garage and I do quite a bit of frontend work and transmissions. I'm wondering if the posts or lift arms flex much with something like full sized deisel trucks. I looked...
