Is the 80K Mr. Heater unit too large for my shop? I'm only going to use it when I'm out there so I want it to heat up in 20-30 minutes if possible and not have to worry about having to turn it on 2-3 hours ahead of time if it's 20 degree outside. I feel the 50K might be to small for this task...

That seems like a great idea, slide a few long 2x4's to prop up a bit then blow out! I think I'm sold on it but my wife isn't as convinced, she's concerned the grids are gonna get packed with dirt in no time.

Thanks so much for everyone's responses and experiences! So to sum it up it's the classic cheaper Chinese unit that will be more difficult to repair vs better made USA unit but both "should" perform about equally. I poked around on eBay and marketplace with no luck, maybe I'll keep looking...
